ABD SCHOLARSHIP FUND PROGRAM

 

The Board of Directors of the Association of Blauvelt Descendants established a scholarship program to promote the intellectual development of our members, their families and the community as a whole through financial support. The ABD is proud to be able to offer this assistance in order to help fulfill students’ dreams and aspirations. The awards are available each year and will be given as a result of interest earned from bequests and monies donated to this fund in the future. The Scholastic Awards include:

 

The Raymond & Carolyn Blauvelt Scholarship Award ($1,000.00 US)

The Starr & Dorothy Schofield Blauvelt Scholarship Award ($1,000.00 US)

The Association of Blauvelt Descendants Scholarship Award ($500.00 US)

The Jackie Hegeman Award ($500.00)

 

The scholarships are available for high school students applying to college, enrolled students in undergraduate or graduate degree programs, and for those in a continuing education program. Information outlining all details and a scholarship application for 2012-2013 will be in the Spring Issue of the Blauvelt News, as well as available upon request (please contact the Chairperson below). The Deadline for the 2012-2013 academic year is May 1, 2012, All applications must be postmarked by this date.

 

We are pleased to announce the Winners for the 2011-2012 academic year:

Angela Wilson from Valrico, Florida, is again the recipient of The Starr & Dorothy Schofield Blauvelt ($1,000) need-based award for a second year. This special award has the potential to continue through her college years. Angela attends the Savannah College of Art and Design, studying 2D animation.

The Raymond & Carolyn Blauvelt Award ($1,000) goes to John E. Semmens, Morgantown, West Virginia. He will be a graduate student at Georgia Tech.

The Louis L. Blauvelt Award ($500) goes to Lauren Maginness, Clifton VA who will be a student at the University of Florida.

And lastly, The Jackie Hegeman Award ($500), now a need-based award, goes to Sabrina Hallock, a student at Bethel College, Mishawaka, IN.

All recipients expressed their appreciation to the ABD for the honor of receiving a scholarship. We, in turn, would like to express our best wishes for a rewarding academic year to the recipients.
