INTRODUCTION

The Association of Blauvelt Descendants is a family assocation that was founded in 1926 to bring together the descendants of Gerrit Hendrickszen (Blauvelt). The objectives are to promote an interest in genealogy, history and ancestry of the early Dutch settlers in New Amsterdam, with particular emphasis on Gerrit Hendrickszen de blau boer, who arrived in America from Deventer, Province of Overijssel in the Netherlands in 1638, and his descendants; to make results of studies available to the public; to encourage and instruct members in genealogical research; and to publish genealogical and historical information.

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

All descendants of Gerrit Hendrickszen are eligible for membership, upon proof of lineage. Adult, Associate and Junior Memberships are available, as well as Life Membership.

Contact the Membership Secretary for applications by mail or click here for an application form in PDF format that you can print and mail. There is also a "supplemental application" (in PDF format) that gives you the opportunity to add any information you would like included in your genealogical record. The "supplemental application" is optional.
Dues are $15.00 per year for adult membership, $10.00 per year for Associate Membership, and $5.00 per year for Junior Membership. Family Membership is $35.00 per year for all family members living in one household. Life Membership is $750. and Associate Life Membership is $250.

THE BLAUVELT NEWS

The Blauvelt News is published in February, June and October. The cost is included in membership dues. Persons not eligible for membership in the Association of Blauvelt Descendants may subscribe to The Blauvelt News for $15.00 per year. Contact the Editor.

Please submit information and articles early. Deadlines are:
    20 December for the Spring issue
    20 April for the Summer issue
    20 August for the Fall issue
