The Association of Blauvelt Descendants is a family assocation that was founded in 1926 to bring together the descendants of Gerrit Hendrickszen (Blauvelt). The objectives are to promote an interest in genealogy, history and ancestry of the early Dutch settlers in New Amsterdam, with particular emphasis on Gerrit Hendrickszen de blau boer, who arrived in America from Deventer, Province of Overijssel in the Netherlands in 1638, and his descendants; to make results of studies available to the public; to encourage and instruct members in genealogical research; and to publish genealogical and historical information. MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION All descendants of Gerrit Hendrickszen are eligible for membership, upon proof of lineage. Adult, Associate and Junior Memberships are available, as well as Life Membership. Contact the Membership Secretary
for applications by mail or click here for an application
form in PDF format
that you can print and mail. There is also a "supplemental
application" (in PDF format)
that gives you the opportunity to add any information you would like
included in your genealogical record. The "supplemental application" is
optional.
